Setting Up
RPGenie can only add quests and tasks into your LiFE RPG system if you connect it properly with your Notion workspace. Follow the steps below carefully, one by one.
Sync RPGenie with LiFE RPG
Step 1: Create an RPGenie Account
Open the RPGenie app: https://www.liferpg.site/rpgenie/app
Register a new account with your email.

Step 2: Create a Notion Integration
Go to Notion Integrations (https://www.notion.so/profile/integrations)
Click the button to create a new integration.
Fill in the details like this:
Integration Name: RPGenie
Associated workspace: Choose the workspace where your LiFE RPG system is stored
Type: Internal
Click Save
Step 3: Give the Integration Access
After saving, go into the Access tab.
Click Select Pages.
You will see a list of all the pages in your workspace.
Find your LiFE RPG page and select it. This gives RPGenie permission to add quests inside your LiFE RPG system.
Step 4: Copy Your Integration Secret
Go back to the Configuration tab in Notion.
Copy the Internal Integration Secret.
Return to the RPGenie app.
In your Profile tab, find the Credentials section.
Click Edit, then paste the secret into the API Key field.
Save your changes.

Step 5: Find Your Database ID
Go back to Notion and open your RPGenie module inside LiFE RPG.
In the Quest section, right-click on any tab and choose Open Source Database.
You will be taken to the database page.
In the top-right corner, click the three-dot icon and choose Copy Link.
The link you copied looks long. Inside that link, there is a string of letters and numbers right before the
“{your database id}?v”.
That is your Database ID. Copy it.
Step 6: Add Your Database ID into RPGenie
Go back to RPGenie’s Credentials section.
Paste the Database ID into the Database ID field.
Save your changes.
Then click Test Credential.
If you see a success message, the connection worked!

Step 7: Verify the Connection
Go back to the [RPGenie · Tavern] module.
Look at the Log section.
If you see a record called Credentials Configuration Test, that means the system has successfully linked with your LiFE RPG.

Sync LiFE RPG with RPGenie (Optional)
This part is only needed if you want to request tasks directly inside Notion. If you are on Notion’s Free Plan, you can skip this section. The Free Plan does not allow this feature.
Step 1: Get Your User Key
In RPGenie’s Credentials section, click the Request button in the User Key field.
You will receive your User Key by email. Copy it.
Step 2: Add the User Key to Settings
Go back to the [RPGenie · Tavern] module.
Scroll to the Settings section.
Paste your User Key into the field provided.

Step 3: Finished
Now your LiFE RPG system and RPGenie are fully connected. You can:

Or, if you skipped this step, still use all other RPGenie functions normally
